The event ends the day the store makeover is complete! Get in while the gettin’s good!
Lucky for you – the pipe broke at the same time lots of houses were getting flooded by the rain. Sooooo, all the construction companies are super booked. We’re trying to complete everything as soon as possible – but it could be a couple of weeks!
Okay, well today we are going to cover the ten steps to a perfect face that’s business casual, natural. This is not for fashionistas. It’s just for ladies that want to look nice in the office or at least look nice professionally. So let’s start with the first step: foundation. I like the ExtraLasting. The thing with doing your face is you just want to cover up imperfections. You don’t need to do your entire face. It’s just not necessary.A lot of people think, “I’m rocking that line on my chin”. You just want to blend in and get a natural look. If you put the makeup on your lips, it will help your lipstick last longer later. Now concealer is Step 2. I have a full coverage foundation so I just use a concealer brush. If you’re using a BB cream or a CC cream… I really don’t… My skin care has been working really well. I do have a little spot here. But the nice thing with a brush, you can be really precise. Way more precise than with your fingers or whatnot. All right. The next step in doing your face is powder. Whether you have loose powder or pressed power, I like a kabuki brush. Just because it spreads everything on your face. It sets the foundation and just gives you a nice overall matted look on your face. I hum when I put my makeup on. (laugh) All right. So now you have a fresh palette to work with. The next step is blush. I like the bronzer brush with the flat top because it takes “needing skill” out of doing blush. You just swipe and go. There we go (laugh). All right, now when doing the eyes, that’s half of the work here. I always like to start with the brows. I’ve got my brow liner and my brow brush. And you kind of see, I don’t really have eyebrows. So, the brow brush lets you not be as skilled. I’m just saying I don’t have a whole lot of skills. I’m not an artist. So, I kinda cheat. Actually, let me do just one brow so you can see. And then I use this end to kind of scrub in any lines I might have and to shape my eye. There. I have a brow. Do the other eye. Just kind of fill in the spots where the brows need it. Some of you are going to need tweezers. Some of you are gonna need a lot more pencil. Everyone has different brows. Gonna have to fluff mine up just to look like I have any. Alrighty, the next step I do is the eyeliner just because it’s really hard to put eyeliner on after you’ve put eye shadow on. So for the bottom part, you just want to go about 1/3 in. You’re just trying to frame your eye. On the top part you want to go on the other side of your iris. This helps frame the eye and then it avoids… if you have dark circles under your eyes. I know it’s “in” in some circles to take a black eyeliner and just do a think circle around your eyes. It looks good on the red carpet, but not necessarily a business office. All right. For eye shadow, I’m just a subtle person. Oh, eye shadow + brush. This is a neutral. If I’m doing a date night type thing I’m definitely picking something darker, doing all 4 colors. For the office, I just need two (colors). You know, we just don’t need to be fashionistas when we’re rocking that HR desk. You kinda see it. It just subtly comes out. I have a different eye shape than what they train us on for makeovers. So, I just have to do my best to make it visible because my second color is usually pretty hard to see with my eyes. Hey, look at that. And…correction. The nest step on the eyes is the mascara. It’s the wet stuff, so obviously you want to do that last. Pretty simple, you just kinda … everyone does it different. I just kinda blink into it. It’s not uncommon to open your mouth wide while putting mascara on. Awesome. Then the final step are the lips. Well, lip liner and lip stick. You wanna get the “cupid’s bow”. What I do to make my lipstick last longer is just fill everything in. Not rocking any fun lines on my lips, the lipstick lasts longer. If you want to know what color to get, try to match your hair. That’s why Snow White was able to wear really bright lipstick because she had really dark hair. Business natural. Right there. That was 10 Steps. I don’t look like I’m rocking a red carpet, but I look natural. I look appropriate for a business setting. There you have it. Good luck ladies!
Okay. Anyone that knows me knows that I like a natural look, but even natural looks take some effort. What I’m gonna show you is my haul. I just got myself a whole new set of makeup. I’m very excited. But it’s each step and it’s all 10 steps of a perfect face. I just had such a hodge podge. I said I’m just going to start fresh. So I’m going to go through it. The first one, it’s my favorite foundation. I used to totally be into liquids, but I just love the ease of cream to powder. And I love the ExtraLasting just because it stays on all day and I work long days. Step 2 to a perfect face is concealer. So I know I’m showing you a brush and not concealer, but ExtraLasting is full coverage so if you just dip into it a little bit. The best way to cover up a big pimple or a big mole is to do your whole face and then on that one spot you just dab it until it disappears. And then with the brush you can feather the edges out so it blends in. Alright I just love it. Ever since I figured out how to use a concealer brush, I don’t even use concealer. Now if you have a BB cream or a CC cream or a tinted moisturizer, you know something that’s sheer, you’re gonnna want a concealer. But, if you have a full coverage makeup, you can use a concealer brush. And like I said, just load up your brush, dab that spot until the pimple or or the age spot disappears and then just feather the edges until people can’t tell that you totally piled it up on that spot. So step 2 is concealer. Step 3 is powder. You can do this with loose or pressed powder. I prefer loose, just because I do. It does come with a puff, but here’s the deal. If you’re gonna use the puff, you wanna puff, puff, puff it on your face. Not rub it on. Why? ‘Cause you just did all this work, why would you rub off all the work? Because of that, I prefer to use the kabuki brush. The great thing is, the kabuki brush kinda fills up the spot. and even if you have pressed powder you can just kinda fill it up and then .. you can just do your whole face with the kabuki brush. I love that little brush. The powder sets the foundation. Now ExtraLasting you don’t even really need a powder because it lasts all day, but any other foundation, you definitely want to set it with powder so it lasts longer. So then the next step is blush. I like the Antique Rose, but I’m fair skinned. But the Antique Rose is a really big seller at the stores. It’s just a neutral, you’re like “is it pink? Is it brown? Is it?” You know, you don’t know. It’s right down the middle. The other one I sell tons of is Rose Lustre. That’s more for like medium skin tones. It does come with it’s little handy-dandy … uh … it’s little thing there. But, I don’t put blush on without the bronzer brush. I love this thing. Now this little guy, you know, you kinda have to have a little bit of precision going on and know what you’re doing. This is.. okay, I know Avon has a full-size blush brush, but this is my, “I don’t really know what I’m doing” fool-proof. Get the bronzer brush because it’s flat-topped. I’ll tell ya, it just goes over the apple of your cheeks, so you can’t mess it up. Whereas, I don’t know, the blush brush looks complicated to me. So I just use the bronzer brush. My cheeks always look great. I love that brush. Okay then, the next one is your brows. Once you get to the eyes over here, I like to set up my brows first. If you haven’t seen a glimmer stick before, they’re pretty awesome. It just twists open and close. So, there’s a lot more to it. I’m just not gonna go all the way up. So I put tawny. It has a little bit of red tint. Then this thing I just love. Now some people need tweezers. I don’t need tweezers. I don’t have enough brow really. So I draw in the pieces that are missing because I just have light brows. And then you can brush you… I brush it up just to make it look fuller and then I use it to shape. You know, some people if it’s super think they can use the comb to help cut, tweeze, you know, everyone has different brows. I don’t have a tweezer, but I live by this thing to help make my brows look like I have some. Okay, and then, before you put the eye shadow on, anyone who’s tried to put..has put eye shadow on and then tried to put eyeliner on knows they got the order wrong. Put your eyeliner on next. I prefer the waterproof glimmersitck, just because I work long days and I need it to last all day long. Um, put that one on first. Oh, and when you’re doing your eye, the tip is, just a second. I need a piece of paper. The tip to doing your eye: if you have, let’s say this is your eye right here. Okay, I know you see people in Hollywood do a thick black liner all over their eye, but it’s just not.. that looks good on the red carpet but not in an office. SO here’s your eye. When you’re putting eye liner on, you want to go 2/3’s of the top on the other side of your iris. And on the bottom just 1/3 in. I know it’s different than I was taught in the 1990’s, but not it’s not, you know, the 1990’s. If you do all the way across the bottom, it can make your dark circles look worse. So just define your eye a little. 1/3 on the bottom and 2/3’s on the top. Alrighty, so on the eye shadow, what’s super duper, can you see they ‘re numbered: 1, 2, 3, 4. And then it even shows you on the back of the box – just keep your box – you know, where to put the different colors. No, this isn’t a neutral, but I do like a little color from time to time. And again, it does come with its little handy dandy, if you’re in a pinch, you know you have 4 sides with your little foam rubber thing. Once I was taught how to use brushes I can’t do without. I definitely would do the big pieces with this one. I don’t know, just rub it on a towel in the bathroom to clean it off. This one I love. Now, okay, so you can use eyeliner, but this dark color here is a perfect eyeliner. This brush, I mean they’re so short and they’re so stiff, you know, choose what side.. This is the eyeliner brush. You can use the powder as your eyeliner. Not only is it more dramatic, but it looks more natural than a pencil. So, I don’t know, I just am used to doing that a lot too. If I’m wearing eye shadow, which, you know, I’m just into doing that natural look so I don’t wear eye shadow. But, when I do, I always make it an eyeliner or use eye shadow to be the eyeliner. And then, after you put everything dry on your eyes, you know, go for the wet stuff. The Big and Daring mascara is my favorite right now. I don’t have it in my pile here but seriously, buy the eye makeup remover! This stuff stays..on. Stays on. You need the makeup remover to take it off. But that’s one of its charms. And then, step. well I haven’t been counting them. Step 9 is lip liner and then your lipstick. And so for lips, I know a lot of people .. I didn’t understand it, but the cool thing about lips is you start with your “cupid’s bow” and I had no idea what that was. I draw it in. I do that. I do that. And then my hand comes down and I do this side. Then I do this side. Okay, this paper is not my lip, right? I used to be unsteady and then you do the whole bottom. Sometimes it’s easier for people to do a third, a third and a third while you’re getting used to it. What I do, I take the lip liner and I just fill in my entire, I just draw in my entire lips with the lip liner. This paper is not my lips. But, the lipstick lasts forever. You want your lipstick to last forever, put your cream to powder over your lips, put the powder on your lips, draw your lips in with your lip liner, then put your lipstick on. That lipstick is ON. And then, of course, you know, This is natural, looks like it: twig. And then the ExtraLasting line, just because it really does last all day and uh, The funny thing is, when I’m done with this entire regimen, I just look neat and natural and professional. I’m not into the heavy Hollywood thing. 1: foundation. 2: concealer. 3: Powder. 4: Blush. 5: brows. 6: Eyeliner. 7: Eye shadow. 8: mascara. 9: lip liner. 10: lipstick. There’s your 10 steps to a perfect face. I hope you enjoyed the video and got a few good tips out of it. Thanks Avon World.
